Maika Yamamoto & Kentaro Ito Display’s Couple Connections on Date
A scoop on their love affair! Three years have passed since the hit-and-run scandal, but they still haven't broken up!
“Could you please take a photo of us together?”
A young man who looked at me twice after passing by rushed back to me.
In the neon-lit streets of Shibuya Ward, Kentaro Ito (26) stood out enough to catch people’s attention.
In addition to being nearly 180 cm tall, he was not wearing any disguises such as sunglasses or masks. It must have been quite a surprise to see him walking around so unassumingly in this town, which is known for having drinks with ordinary customers, including Arata Furuta (58) and Yusuke Iseya (47).
Moreover, Ito was willing to be photographed.
A short distance away, there was a beautiful woman smiling at Ito.
It was Maika Yamamoto (26), looking rather sexy in a dark green setup.
When the photo session suddenly began in a back alley, Yamamoto went to a nearby Don Quijote.
After killing some time in the store, she met up with Ito, who had finished filming. They went into a Chinese chain, which was also overflowing with customers.
Yamamoto also took off his mask in the restaurant, and when his acquaintance joined them about 10 minutes later, the two popular actors were chatting about their real faces in the cramped restaurant, where they almost bumped into the customers sitting next to them.
“Ito’s breakthrough came with the highly successful ‘Kyou Kara Ore Wa!!’ (NTV) aired in 2018. Being recognized by people of all ages through this work, he skyrocketed to fame and was cast as a major character in NHK’s serial TV drama ‘Scarlet’.
On the other hand, Yamamoto was scouted after being featured in the ‘Tottori Beauty Pageant’ and entered the entertainment industry. She debuted as an actress in the drama series ‘Soredemo, Ikite Yuku’ (Fuji TV) in ’11, after serving as the 14th generation Rehouse Girl and an exclusive model for ‘Nicola’. Ito and Yamamoto co-starred in the movie adaptation of ‘Kyou Kara Ore Wa!!’ released in 2020.” (Sports Newspaper Entertainment Section)
In the early part of the year when the movie adaptation of Kyou Kara Ore Wa!! was released, their relationship was revealed. However, they faced a trial in the autumn of the same year.
“While driving his car, Ito collided with a motorcycle. He left the scene once, leading to his arrest on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act, among other charges. He was later released without indictment, but he had to withdraw from scheduled stage performances and dramas, and went into a period of voluntary hiatus. Although Yamamoto tried to support him during this time, they reportedly broke up once in the following year (2021).” (Private TV station executive)
Ito returned to acting with the lead role in the stage play “Soulful Soul” in October 2021, and in 2022, he starred in the movie “Fuyusoubi” (Winter Rose). As he mentioned in an interview with FRIDAY magazine (October 27, 2023 issue), he has been busy with dramas and movies, leading a hectic life.
Yamamoto’s career has been smooth sailing as well. However, in January 2022, “Shukan Bunshun” magazine scooped a Disney date between Yamamoto and Hiro (29), the vocalist of the rock band “My First Story.” It was reported as intimate dating, leading to speculation that Yamamoto and Ito were heading down separate paths.
The stage was once again set at a Chinese chain restaurant with a full table.
After finishing their meal in about an hour, they parted from their acquaintances and walked toward the main street. The time was just before midnight. The street was still full of drunken customers, but while waiting at a traffic light, Ito acted strangely. While waiting at a traffic light, Ito acted strangely. He put his hand around Yamamoto’s well-developed stomach from behind, lifted him up, and started to cross the pedestrian crossing.
“Kya~!”
Yamamoto’s scream echoed in the late-night crowd, but her expression was truly joyful.
After that, the two returned to their Tokyo apartment together in an SUV with Yamamoto at the wheel. In fact, it was at this apartment that their agency’s pickup truck dropped them off and where they went out and came back together. As far as FRIDAY could tell, they were living together.
One of the most impressive scenes was last Christmas. Ito left her “love nest” with a male acquaintance and headed for the suburbs of Tokyo via expressway, disguising herself as Santa Claus in the car. He and an acquaintance dressed as reindeer met up with Yamamoto. After a Christmas dinner at a ramen restaurant, the group drove off to the “love nest.
“Last year, when Bunshun reported on Ito and Yamamoto’s date again, there was a bit of a stir among fans about whether Hiro or Ito was the real deal. However, in reality, Yamamoto flatly denied any romantic involvement with Hiro, stating they were just friends and went to Disney with four people. As for Ito, she explicitly stated, ‘We get along well’ and ‘I want to support him.'” (Entertainment agency executive)
At a certain event, when asked about romance, Yamamoto said the following,
“I want to date and eventually marry someone I love.”
It’s undeniable that Ito, who has overcome difficulties and further strengthened their bond, is undoubtedly the most important person to Yamamoto.
