It has been learned that Daisuke Shibata, the former leader of the &#8220;Kanto Rengou&#8221;, the &#8220;semi-gross group&#8221;, has passed away. It&#8217;s been a long time since we&#8217;ve had a chance to talk to him.
 On the day of his death, someone from Mr. Shibata&#8217;s company visited him at his home, worried about not being able to contact him, and that&#8217;s when it was discovered. I heard that Mr. Shibata was taking tranquilizers and that he may have impulsively cut himself with a knife. The funeral will be held in Tokyo according to the wishes of his relatives,&#8221; said an acquaintance of Mr. Shibata.

Mr. Shibata was born in Tokyo and belonged to a biker gang since his teens. In 2001, he published a book under the name &#8220;Akio Kudo&#8221; titled &#8220;Initsukana Kizuna Kanto Rengo no Shinjitsu&#8221; (The Truth About the Kanto Rengo), which describes the inside story of the &#8220;Roppongi Club Attack Incident&#8221; that occurred in 2012 and the history of the Kanto Rengo leading up to the incident. The book became a bestseller with a total of over 270,000 copies sold.
At the time, Mr. Shibata was interviewed by this reporter.
 Mr. Shibata told a reporter from this magazine at the time, &#8220;I&#8217;m receiving threats every day (for writing the book), such as &#8216;I&#8217;m going to kill you&#8217; and &#8216;I&#8217;m going to take your gala (abduction). But I&#8217;m in hiding, so I&#8217;ve never felt threatened.

Mr. Shibata has since revealed his real name, and has been writing and appearing in the media. In recent years, he had also been active as an entrepreneur and investor. An acquaintance of mine who knows about his recent situation said, &#8220;It&#8217;s really sad.

 I&#8217;m really sad and can&#8217;t do anything about it. It&#8217;s really sad and heartbreaking. In fact, some of the members who were jailed for the attack on the club will be released from jail soon. It seems that Mr. Shibata has been quite distressed about it lately.&#8221;
Next year will mark the 10th anniversary of the Roppongi club attack. What was Mr. Shibata thinking about? We don&#8217;t know now.
