Why “Snow Man’s” next album is sure to be a “million-seller” in spite of the “CD sales era
Snow Man is a nine-member group that is flying high in this era, with a string of million CD hits.
Although the former Johnny’s office (now “STARTO ENTERTAINMENT”) is in a difficult situation due to the late founder Johnny Kitagawa’s sex-abuse issues, Snow Man’s activities themselves are outstandingly strong. Furthermore, the single “LOVE TRIGGER / We’ll go together,” scheduled for release next February, “has already set a high record,” according to an entertainment writer.
Snow Man made their CD debut together with SixTONES in January 2008, and in their fourth year, they have created numerous records in the music industry, and individually, the members are also very active in variety shows, TV dramas, and movies.
Their 10th single “LOVE TRIGGER / We’ll go together” (released on February 14, 2012) is a double A-side single and is the theme song for a TV drama series in which the members will star. LOVE TRIGGER” is tied up with “Koisuru Keigou 24jikan” (TV Asahi) starring Teru Iwamoto, and “We’ll go together” with “Sensei Sayonara” (Nippon Television) starring Shota Watanabe.
The CD will be released in three formats (first disc A, first disc B, and regular disc), and on December 6, Snow Man’s official X (formerly Twitter) announced that an original calendar would be included as a “bonus for purchasing all three formats at the same time. The CD will be released in February, but “it will be a 12-month weekly calendar with lots of photos,” “there will be new photos taken,” and “it will start in April, which is the new year” (original text in Japanese, same below). Many fans are delighted with this announcement.
Every year, Snow Man and other young debutantes and juniors used to release official calendars. However, on November 15, the old Johnny’s side declared, ‘We are sorry to inform you that we will not be releasing an official calendar for the next year. Fans on the Internet were saddened. After that, SixTONES announced their intention to make a calendar only for their fan club, and King & Prince also announced through their fan club that they were thinking of “something to replace the calendar” (a former entertainment writer).
