On September 29, “K-Arena Yokohama,” a music arena with a capacity of over 20,000 people, opened in Minato Mirai, Yokohama.

The adjacent Hilton Yokohama and K Tower Yokohama have also been completed, and the entire area has been named Music Terrace.

The K-Arena Yokohama, however, does not seem to have a good reputation at present. One of the reasons for this is the huge crowds after live concerts.

K-Arena Yokohama is introduced as being located 9 minutes from Yokohama Station. In reality, however, there are huge crowds at the end of every live concert, and some people on social networking sites say that it took more than two hours to get there.

Some of the people who actually come to see the live performances say

“I’m going home first to avoid the crowds. The other day, there was a person who lied about being stabbed, and I’m afraid of something happening to him.

and a certain number of people returned home in the middle of the live performance to avoid the peak of the return trip home.

In addition, people who appeared to be picking up friends and family members who had gone to the concert by car had temporarily stopped their cars on the surrounding streets, creating a traffic jam caused by cars with Tokyo or Saitama license plates.

In response to this situation, the management of K-Arena Yokohama has continued to take countermeasures, directing people in the direction of Minato Mirai Station and widening some sidewalks, and the time required to return home, which initially took about two hours, has been reduced to about 50 minutes.

In fact, when the reporter accompanied the rush home after the concert, he was able to arrive at Yokohama Station in about an hour. It seems that measures against rush hour are being taken.

The congestion around the area is expected to ease once the 130-meter-long “Takashima Waterfront Line Deck (tentative name)” is completed.

No matter how enjoyable a live concert may be, if you have to walk for a long time afterwards in a traffic jam, the enjoyment of the concert will be cut in half.

Immediate countermeasures are required to prevent such a situation from ruining the memories of the live concert in a way that has nothing to do with the charm of the artists.
