On November 6 and 7, the British super-rock band Coldplay performed at the Tokyo Dome in Japan for the first time in about six years.

Coldplay is a super band that epitomizes popular music of the 21st century and has won seven Grammy Awards. Their 2008 album “Beautiful Life” was the most downloaded album in the world in the ’00s. The single of the same name is a chart-topping American single.

The single song of the same name is a classic that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the U.S. and the U.K. singles chart. Many cultural figures and musicians are also fans, and ‘YOASOBI’ was a special guest on their Japan tour” (music magazine editor).

A few days prior to the Japan tour, Guy Berryman (45), who plays bass guitar, held a pop-up store at “Dover Street Market GINZA” in Ginza, Tokyo.

Guy is also known as a fashion enthusiast, having established his own fashion brand “Applied Art Forms” in ’20, and has been a big Japanophile since he visited Japan as a backpacker at the age of 18. When he visited Japan in 2010, he went on a vintage store tour.

Guy is a very quiet person and rarely opens his mouth during interviews, but when he visited a store and purchased a product, he was very attentive to his fans,” said a music industry insider who visited the store.

The items on display were priced at 20,000 yen for a T-shirt, but the store was packed with fans. Among them were actor Shota Matsuda (38) and guitarist MIYAVI (42). This was a surprise to the customers, and they were surrounded by a crowd as large as Guy’s.

At the live performance on the 7th, Matsuda’s image in the audience was projected on a huge monitor offstage, and some people said, “What? Is that Shota Matsuda? and the audience got excited. Many other celebrities also visited the event and seemed to be intoxicated by their performance.
