A well-known radio DJ in Hokkaido, Hiroyuki Ooi, 47, was arrested on November 14 on suspicion of forcible sexual intercourse. Hiroyuki Ooi, 47, a well-known radio DJ in Hokkaido, was arrested on November 14 on suspicion of forcible sexual intercourse.

Suspect Oi being sent to the police station for prosecution.

Although Ooi denies the charges, saying that he has never forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse, the local media reported daily on the suspect’s arrest for “riding on a woman who resisted and holding her down to sexually assault her.

An official of the Hokkaido branch of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) said.

He was active as a radio personality, head of the local V-League team, and a representative of a civic organization. In fact, he was very close to the political world, and I heard that he was a “political lobbyist” in the worst sense of the word. In particular, he was very close to the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and once boasted about showing a photo of himself and former Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide (74).

He is a close friend of Manabu Horii, 51, a member of the House of Representatives elected in his hometown of Hokkaido, and is also a member of the Hokkaido supporters’ association of Yoshiaki Wada, 52, a member of the House of Representatives, and Satsuki Katayama, 64, a member of the House of Councilors. In the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, he interacted with Seiji Osaka (64), a member of the House of Representatives, Masaru Arai (48), and Maki Ikeda (51), a former member of the House of Representatives. Because of his deep connections to the political world, the investigation seems to have been conducted with caution. However, none of the local media reports mentioned the relationship between Ooi and those involved in the political world, leading some to say, “This is nothing more than discovery against politicians who were involved with Ooi.

After graduating from high school, Oi worked at Akahira City Hall. According to local officials, he worked mainly as a caseworker at the city office, but at the same time he had various other faces, including serving as a representative of a civic organization, being involved in poverty support and educational institutions, and working as an actor. He also appeared frequently in the local media.

He called himself ” Hokkaido’s most outspoken municipal official,” and advocated a “smart super-city” concept. He also gave lectures at “urban development” events sponsored by various governments. He was also a member of the All-Japan Local Government Labor Union, but “had to leave the union after a dispute.

After retiring from city hall, where he had worked for 25 years, he was active as a representative and board member of several civic groups, but what is interesting is “how could a local government official hold so many titles and influence the political and business worlds? An official of the Liberal Democratic Party’s provincial federation explains the background.

He was originally known to be in a relationship with a famous director of a local TV station. Later, he married the daughter of an Otaru city councilor, a leading figure in the LDP, and thus established a pipeline to both the media and the political world. Using his political channels, the suspect Oi organized a symposium to connect politics with the local government and business community in Hokkaido.

He attracted attention by speaking as a panelist himself, and his title increased. He is a power-oriented person, and there were many people in the LDP who looked at him coldly and said, ‘Why are you giving such a person so much importance?

A person involved with the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) in Hokkaido, as mentioned above, said, “It is unfortunate that Oi, while at the city hall, was a vocal advocate of the contradictions in welfare policies in Hokkaido, which has a very low birthrate and aging population, and vigorously communicated that reform is necessary.

There were people who supported Oi, who was very passionate about his activities. Even within the Constitutional Democratic Party, there were people who were close to him. However, he has changed since he became a close ally of the LDP. Both the name of the organization he heads, “Dosanko Punch,” which engages in regional revitalization activities, and his vision of “regional revitalization that does not depend on conventional government” are probably a rip-off of former Takeo Mayor Keisuke Hiwatari’s “Chieftain Punch.

The websites of organizations and radio program pages that the suspect Ooi was involved in were closed one after another after the incident, and the online program in which he performed with LDP members was also quickly deleted. In a bad way, Oi has become “Japan’s most outlandish former local government official.
