A “drunken man went on a rampage” at Shibuya Halloween… “Shocking moment” when “dozens of police officers” took him down.

This year’s Halloween event in Shibuya was marked by unprecedented calls for people not to come to Shibuya for Halloween, including “Don’t come to Shibuya for Halloween.”

When I went there around 7:00 a.m. on the 28th, I found that barricades had been set up in the space near Hachiko and at the entrance to Center Street, prohibiting entry and U-turns.

Around 6:00 p.m., when many Halloween visitors are expected, police officers, ward employees, and employees of private security companies called out and patrolled the area, and there seemed to be much less extreme cosplay, street smoking, and street drinking than in previous years.

Every year, a lot of trash was dumped on the streets, which has been a problem, but thanks to about 10 ward employees and a large number of volunteer staff who picked up trash, there were not so many trash bags at the collection point even on the night of the 31st, when there were the most people.

However, although there were not as many customers who were having a fool’s merrymaking as in previous years, a fight broke out between drunken men around 2:00 a.m. on the 29th, and dozens of police officers had to take down a man who went berserk while kicking over a signboard at a nearby store.

It may be difficult to hold a Halloween event that everyone can enjoy.
