<p> On October 16, the Akabane Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested Yuya Saito, 44, on suspicion of violating the Act on Punishment of Persons Obscuring Sexual Conduct. At around 8:30 in the morning on the same day, Saito was on the platform of JR Akabane Station in Kita-ku, Tokyo, trying to take pictures of a junior high school girl&#8217;s skirt with a mobile battery-type camera. An alert member of the Railway Police found him, subdued him, and arrested him in the act. Saito is a well-known music producer.</p>
<p><strong> Saito, a graduate of the Tokyo College of Music, studied songwriting at a major entertainment production&#8217;s academy for creators. As a famous music producer, he has provided songs for &#8220;Momoiro Clover,&#8221; Nana Mizuki, and others. He has also written theme songs and character songs for TV anime,&#8221; said an employee of a major record company.</strong></p>
<p> When questioned by the police, Saito said, &#8220;I wanted to relieve stress. I got on the train to take voyeuristic pictures.</p>

<p> In September 2008, A, a guitarist in a group that has participated in the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Singing Contest), was arrested for indecent assault. He allegedly held her mouth with both hands and indecently assaulted her. The woman, who suffered a minor injury to her right arm, ran away, and A surrendered to the police a few days later with a lawyer, and was sentenced to one year and two months in prison the following November.</p>
<p> In October 2010, B, a composer, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to commit an indecent act on an underage girl. B is called &#8220;God Creator&#8221; by his fans and has composed music for many popular games and animations. In May of this year, he was sentenced to one year and six months in prison, with a three-year suspended sentence.</p>
<p><strong> Many of the arrested musicians stated that they were &#8216;under a lot of stress. Certainly they are under pressure to constantly create works that are innovative and resonate with their fans. However, that should not be an excuse for committing a crime. It is an unforgivable crime. If the allegations are true, it is only natural that they will face social sanctions.</strong></p>
