The 25 years of Halo Pro has been 25 years of “inheritance and evolution.

The 25 years of Hello! 23, Angulum, Juice=Juice, and Tsubaki Factory! Project, which includes Morning Musume, Angulum, Juice=Juice, and Tsubaki Factory, celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Taiyo to Ciscomoon, Melon Anniversary, Aya Matsuura, Berryz KOBO, °C-ute, Erina Mano, Kobushi Factory, and Kobushi Factory. ……While some artists have graduated or groups and units have disbanded in the past 25 years, BEYOOOOONDS andOCHA Every few years, new groups such as BEYOOOOONDS, OCHA, and NORMA have emerged, changing generations and highlighting the individuality of each group and talent, keeping Halo Pro fresh and renewed.

In terms of succession, Morning Musume。 The biggest-selling hit “LOVE MACHINE,” for example. Naturally, none of the members from that time are with the group today, but the current members of Morning Musume。 23, the song has been sung by successive generations of Morning Musume。

The group has been introducing new members under the title of “○ term” and adding the last two digits of the western calendar to the group name since 2002, and has established a system in the female group idol world that spins the group’s history for a long time, repeating the graduation and joining of new members until the 17th term, when the latest members join the group. This is also a very significant factor in the history of idol groups. While male idols have been able to continue their activities as idols as they age, female idols have had to graduate or disband after a certain age, and this system was born out of the unique circumstances of female idols. Berryz KOBO chose to go on an indefinite hiatus without replacing any of its members, and Kobushi Factory and Tsubaki Factory were formed to carry on the spirit of Berryz KOBO.

Unique evolution amidst the “I don’t know any of the current members

New groups, new members, new songs. And many “legacies” that have been passed down from generation to generation. At concerts and events held several times a year in which the entire Halo Pro group participates, shuffle units that transcend group boundaries perform songs that transcend time and again, and sometimes discover new charms in songs and members they know well. It is one of the charms of Halo Pro that it is able to constantly evolve while continuing to be inherited in such a way.

The music is a richly varied mix of dance music, rock, pop, funk, songs, and sometimes even classical music ……, and until ’14, the group had a comprehensive lineup of songs from a variety of musical genres. The world view where the big love on the scale of the universe and the real feelings of girls close to them coexist, which was the foundation of Tunku♂ who was the overall producer until ’14, the type of music and performance that is rarely seen outside of Halo Pro that creates a unique atmosphere while incorporating the latest trendy EDM elements, the vibrato and shuffling, etc., which some people might say is “a bit too much” for the “Halo Pro” genre, the “Halo Pro” genre, etc. The singing style is sometimes called “halo-pro singing” by some, and is sometimes described as “halo-pro feeling.

On the other hand, the view that the level of exposure on terrestrial TV is a criterion for being successful or popular has persisted to this day. When Morning Musume。 or other halopro groups appear on major music specials, they are sometimes called “I didn’t know they were still doing this” or “I don’t know any of the current members” or “LOVE Machine Preservation Society” when the current members perform their representative songs from the past, as mentioned above.

However. Even today, each of their CDs continues to record consistent sales, and it is not unusual for their concerts to be held in arenas and budokan-class venues. In recent years, they have performed at large-scale rock festivals, and in particular, Morning Musume。 In particular, Morning Musume。’s 40-minute nonstop performance in 2007 overwhelmed many rock fans and was sometimes described as a “ghost of physical strength. Before the COVID-19 crisis, the group had been actively touring live houses across the country, giving powerful performances at close quarters. The group’s meritocracy, as expressed in their song assignments and selection of members, their insistence on the 16 beats of the songs created by TSUNKU♂ and others, the coexistence of unwavering formation dancing and individualistic dancing, and the inheritance of their gymnastic DNA, in which they admire the skills of what they call the “technical halo pro” and desperately try to catch up and overtake the others. They are the inheritors of the athletic DNA of the group, which is to keep up with and overtake others. The balance of these elements, along with the slightly off-the-wall elements such as comedic phrases and skits, is what makes Hello Project unique and not just a fad! Project has evolved into a unique collective with a “Halo Pro feel” not found anywhere else.

Women and idols adore “Halo Pro.

In the course of its 25-year history, Hello! Project’s fan base has also seen an increase in the percentage of female fans. It is not unusual to see an overwhelming number of female fans at concerts and events, and Morning Musume。 and Angelem members grace the covers and gravure pages of women’s fashion magazines. Many female celebrities, such as Maayu Matsuoka, Yu Aoi, Akiko Kikuchi, and Dekami-chan, have professed their love of Halo Pro. Many of the current idols also admire Halo Pro, and even today in the live idol community, Halo Pro songs such as “Hatsukoi Cider” by Buono! and “Idol’s Idol”.

Of course, there are many women who have been fans of the group for a long time. and their derivative unit “Minimoni. Some have been nostalgically reminiscing about their childhood infatuation with Maude and its offshoot “Minimoni,” while others come back to the group, shocked by the high caliber of the current Halo Pro, while others have been Halo Pro fans for two generations (parent and child), and some have even auditioned because of the group’s influence on their admiration. This is another form of succession.

The ability to provide a constant supply of new groups and new members, as well as performances of a certain level of quality, is due in large part to the fact that along with the various auditions, a trainee system has been established to foster the next generation of talent and future stars, allowing them to learn the fundamentals of the art form, which has been a major factor in Halo Pro’s continued evolution and legacy. This is one of the major factors that have allowed Halo Pro to continue its history of evolution and succession. Many trainees are learning, including the seven-member “Halo Pro Trainee Unit ’23,” which has been announced for debut next year. The high level of skill of recent Halo Pro members can be attributed in part to the fact that they are able to learn the fundamentals during their trainee period.

Many members grow unexpectedly before or after their debut, and the pleasure of watching and discovering this is a part of the 25-year history of the group. It is sometimes said that “Halo Pro is life. This is because the members, staff, and fans of Halo Pro have continued to connect with each other with the “great love on a cosmic scale” I mentioned earlier.

In a sense, the “Halo Pro feeling” may have already become something like a performance of traditional arts. In this light, it may be natural, even inevitable, that such a “preservation society” should be formed to carry on the tradition.

25th anniversary concert to be held; every era is “Halo Pro

September 9 and 10. Project’s 25th anniversary concert “HELLO! Project 25th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT” was held at Yoyogi Gymnasium in Tokyo on September 9 and 10.

Theconcert was attended by 30,000 people for three performances over two days. It was as if 25 years of “inheritance and evolution” appeared as a single form.

After the performance on the evening of the 10th, Sayumi Michishige, a former member of Morning Musume。 Sayumi Michishige, a former member of Morning Musume。

<I thought that everything I have seen and experienced in Halo Pro and the current Halo Pro are all important and I still love them. >

The members may have changed, but the sense of Halo Pro that runs through Halo Pro has remained the same throughout all eras, and will surely continue to evolve and be passed down through the years to come.
