 Recently, U.S. singer-songwriter R. Kelly was ordered to pay a massive $10.5 million (about $1.54 billion) for threatening six sexual victims. The U.S. TMZ reports.

 R. Kelly has won three Grammy Awards for his hit song &#8220;I Believe I Can Fly&#8221; and others. He has sold more than 75 million records worldwide and is known as the &#8220;King of R&amp;B&#8221; as one of the best-selling musicians in the U.S. in the &#8217;80s.
 However, Kelly was convicted on all nine counts, including child sexual abuse, sex trafficking, bribery, and violation of the Mann Act (a U.S. law prohibiting the interstate transportation of women and girls for immoral purposes). He was sentenced to 30 years in prison by a federal district court in New York last June and is currently incarcerated.
 Against this backdrop, a documentary film, &#8220;Surviving R. Kelly,&#8221; which traces the unprecedented sexual abuse case of R. Kelly that shook the U.S., was produced, in which the victims appeared and accused Kelly of sexual crimes.
 In an attempt to prevent the screening of this documentary film, Kelly and his former manager were ordered to pay huge damages for threatening the victims.
 Six of the female victims had sued Kelly and his former manager for unlawfully stopping a screening of &#8220;Surviving R. Kelly&#8221; in New York City in December &#8217;18.

 Beginning in May &#8217;18, Kelly and his former manager allegedly tried to stop the screening of the documentary by threatening the women victims, the production company, and the producer. When their attempts to stop the screening failed, Kelly and others called the producer on the night of the screening in New York City,
 &#8220;Someone is going to shoot up the place.
 and announced a shooting rampage.
 The phony shooting warning worked, and the screening was forced to be canceled. As a result, the victims claim that they began to suffer from PTSD and panic attacks as a result of the trauma of their past sexual assaults.
 The court ordered Kelly and her former manager to compensate the six women between $1.1 million and $2.25 million each. Approximately $500,000 (¥73 million) of Kelly&#8217;s royalties from Universal Music Group will be used to pay compensation to the victims.
 The huge damages of up to 330 million yen were ordered against the victim, but the threats against not only the sexual abuse but also the accusation of the damage were despicable and malicious, and the compensation order seems to be justified in order to prevent a recurrence of such abuse&#8211;.
