<p> The man allegedly lured the junior high school girl by sending her a message on a social networking service, falsely claiming to be 20 years old.</p>

<p> On August 28, Saitama Prefectural Police Omiya-Nishi Police Station arrested Yuki Miyagawa, 42, a company employee living in Yoshikawa City, Saitama Prefecture, on suspicion of indecent kidnapping and confinement, etc. He confined a junior high school girl, A, whom he met on SNS, in his apartment. He is alleged to have committed indecent acts, including touching her.</p>
<p><strong> The incident occurred on June 24 of this year. The suspect and Ms. A had been exchanging messages for two or three days prior to the incident. Around 1:00 p.m. on the same day, Miyagawa lured Ms. A onto a street near JR Omiya Station, saying, &#8220;I&#8217;ll teach you how to study. Miyagawa put Ms. A in the minicar he was driving and drove her to his apartment. He allegedly held her captive until around 6:00 p.m. and performed indecent acts on her.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Ms. A was released before 9:00 pm. Her mother, who became suspicious of her daughter&#8217;s unusual behavior, took Ms. A to talk to the police, who discovered the suspect&#8217;s crime through SNS communication and security camera footage. Upon investigation, Miyagawa stated that he was &#8220;interested in teenage girls. Ms. A, on the other hand, said, &#8216;I didn&#8217;t like it, but I was too afraid to say no.'&#8221; (reporter from the society section of a national newspaper)</strong></p>

<p> In recent years, more and more young women like Ms. A are getting into trouble after meeting strangers through social networking services. The following are some of the major cases.</p>

<p> In May 2007, a man in his 30s replied to a suicidal junior high school girl on a social networking service, saying that he would be her &#8220;counselor. He locked the junior high school girl up in his home and repeatedly assaulted her in spectacular ways, including punching her in the face, and committing indecent acts.</p>
<p> In October 2008, a man in his 20s met a woman in her late teens who wanted to run away from home through SNS. He solicited the woman verbally. He kept her for five months in an abandoned house managed by his relatives.</p>
<p> In October 2010, a man in his 20s contacted a junior high school girl who hinted on SNS that she wanted to commit suicide. He took her to his home, indecently assaulted her, and allegedly aided her suicide.</p>
<p> The Omiya-Nishi Police Station, which arrested Miyagawa, warned that &#8220;carelessly meeting with unspecified people is dangerous because of the high possibility of becoming a victim of crime.</p>
