<p> On August 29, the Yokohama District Court (Presiding Judge Toshihiko Niwa) sentenced Yuya Nozaki, 29, to five years and six months in prison for assisting a suicide. Nozaki is alleged to have taken a junior high school girl he met on a social networking service to his home for the purpose of indecent assault, knowing the girl to be underage, and then took her to a bridge near a lake in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, to help her commit suicide.</p>
<p><strong> At trial, Nozaki admitted to the charges and said, &#8216;I met with five to six women who were suicidal. He also said, &#8216;I thought that if I was nice to mentally unstable women, they would be interested in me and have intercourse with me.&#8217;</strong></p>
<p><strong> On the other hand, the prosecution believed that Nozaki aided and abetted the victim&#8217;s suicide, believing that his crime would not be discovered by the police if the victim died. Nozaki stood on the parapet of the bridge and asked the junior high school girl, &#8220;Are you going to fly or not?　What are you going to do?</strong></p>

<p> On October 17, 2010, the Kanagawa Prefectural Police re-arrested Nozaki. On September 27, the prefectural police also arrested Nozaki on suspicion of abducting a minor by taking a junior high school girl, A, around with him. Security camera footage showed that the two had been working together.</p>
<p><strong> On September 23, Nozaki took Ms. A by car to a bridge in the mountains of Sagamihara City, presumably to help her commit suicide. It is believed that this was to help Ms. A commit suicide.</strong></p>

The one I was able to lure out happened to be a junior high school girl. He was using multiple SNS accounts. However, he deleted most of them immediately after the incident, and it is believed that he tried to cover up his connection with Ms. A.</strong><strong> The same applies to the defendant.</strong></p>
<p> Nozaki was sentenced to five years and six months in prison. The man who toyed with the girl&#8217;s fate out of selfish desire now bears the burden of guilt.</p>
