Dashing in all black… “Sexy Zone’s” Kento Nakajima “The prince of Johnny’s” is seriously planning to go abroad.

Some say his English is already “native level.” Will he succeed?

One evening at the international arrival gate of Haneda Airport. A man dressed all in black was walking briskly. He is Kento Nakajima, 29, of Johnny’s popular group Sexy Zone.

Nakajima plays the role of Noah in the Japanese dubbed version of the movie “Transformers: Beast Awakening” (released in Japan on August 4). He was returning to Japan after attending the movie’s premiere event in New York.

Nakajima will appear in “Concordia,” a drama series to be broadcast simultaneously around the world in 2012. The producer of “Game of Thrones” and other dramas said, “You are perfect for this role,” and selected her as one of the main cast members.

Nakajima, who had dreamed of appearing in an overseas drama, had secretly been studying English for many years.

Although Nakajima had no overseas experience, he attracted attention when he reported on the Academy Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles in ’20. He proudly covered the event in front of big names there and showed off his fluent English. Some people on the Internet even said, “Isn’t he a native English speaker? I think he’s a native level English speaker. His appearance in an overseas drama will be a big step toward his global expansion.
