 The man who emerged from the immigration facility in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, showed no signs of ill humor. The man boarded a plane bound for Haneda Airport. He was arrested on board the plane during the transfer.
 On June 20, the Machida Police Department arrested Shuichi Noborikawa, 39, an unemployed man, on suspicion of attempted forcible sexual intercourse and breaking and entering, for attempting to sexually assault Ms. A, a woman in her 30s. The suspect denies the crime, saying, &#8220;I have no recollection of the crime.

 The incident occurred between late at night on February 21 and early morning on the following day, February 22. The suspect entered an apartment in Machida City. He allegedly tried to have forced sexual intercourse with Ms. A, a resident of the apartment.
 However, Ms. A screamed loudly and resisted violently, and the suspect fled running. Based on security camera footage, the suspect Noborikawa emerged in the line of investigation. The police obtained an arrest warrant and pursued his whereabouts.
 Noborikawa was taken into custody in an unexpected place. Perhaps fearing arrest, Noborikawa left Japan in April after the crime. He was detained in Thailand, where he had fled, for being in the country illegally.

 The suspect had traveled to Thailand several times and seemed to have a good feel for the country. He may have had acquaintances who could have helped him escape. He also had a place of work and a home in Machida City, where he is believed to have committed the crime, and was familiar with the city.
 The suspect Noborikawa was known for his youthful spirit since his school days. He rode around on a motorcycle with his friends and often played in Osaka and other places. He also had a flamboyant relationship with women,&#8221; said an acquaintance of Noborikawa.
 The police are investigating the details of how Noborikawa fled to Thailand and his other crimes.
