Hollywood actress Jodie Foster was spotted out and about in New York City with her wife Alexandra Hedison and their 21-year-old second son Kit, who got married on May 30 (local time). The Daily Mail (electronic edition) reported.

The Foster family made the long walk from Manhattan’s West Village district to Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan.

According to the article, “The taller Kit stood out so much that he overpowered his mother, Jodi. Jody was dressed casually in a bright white T-shirt, green pants, a bright yellow hat on her head, and sunglasses. She stopped at many storefronts to bring back drinks.”

Jody’s same-sex marriage to Alexandra and their happy family was a tumultuous drama.

Jody gave birth to her first son Charles in ’98 and her second son Kit in ’01 while still unmarried, but did not disclose the father’s name. At the time, the name of the father was discussed in a U.S. entertainment weekly magazine as the name of a male producer who had a strong heart.

Jodie was together with female film producer Sydney Bernard for 15 years before their breakup in May ’08. In 2007, she reportedly came out as a lesbian at a ceremony in Los Angeles, saying, “Thank you to my beautiful Sydney for always being there for me.

Speaking of Jodie, she attracted attention and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as a 12-year-old girl prostitute in “Taxi Driver” (’76), starring Robert De Niro. She won two Academy Awards for Best Actress for her roles in “Where the Accusation Goes” (’88) and “Silence of the Lambs” (’91).

She invited Kit and Charles to the ’13 Golden Globe Awards ceremony where she received the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. Sidney was there, too,” said the film writer.

In her acceptance speech, Jody called her sons “amazing beings” and said they are “the reason we breathe, the reason we evolve,” among other things. Jody said she has done her best to keep her sons out of the Hollywood spotlight.

After separating from Sydney, Jodie briefly dated Cindy Mote, a screenwriter and producer she met while filming the psycho-thriller “The Brave One” in ’09. She then went on to date Alexandra and they were married in ’14.

Jodie was spending time with her family and seemed to be in a state of bliss.

Japan passed the “Law for the Promotion of LGBT Understanding” on March 16. Some Japanese politicians who still refuse to legally recognize same-sex marriage could learn a thing or two from the Jodie family.
