Actor Takeuchi Ryoma’s Younger Sister, Takeuchi Honoka, Says, “I Haven’t Had a Boyfriend for Four Years, but I Want to Be Scooped for a Hot Love Story!”
A direct interview with a "rising star of variety TV" who is currently a hot topic of conversation: "I will eat even insects" if it sells.
My looks are always half-hearted (laughs). I used to work as a model, but now I think variety is the way to live, so I try to expose my true self.
Talent Takeuchi Honoka (26) spoke frankly about self-production.
In April of this year, Takeuchi appeared in an audition project for the popular variety show “Godtan” (TV Tokyo), and won the competition with her exciting candid episodes and “funny old man dance”. She is a “rising star” in the variety show industry who has quickly become the talk of the town with her antics that have even made Gekidan Hitori (46) and other talented comedians laugh out loud.
There is another reason why she is attracting attention besides her outspoken character.
Her own brother is actor Ryoma Takeuchi (30). I got into show business when my brother showed my picture on TV. From there, my Instagram followers quickly increased, and I was scouted by my former agency.”
Ryoma Takeuchi is a well-known handsome actor who has appeared in “Kamen Rider” and morning dramas. When Takeuchi first entered the entertainment industry five years ago when he was a beauty student, his brother’s presence was so large that he was troubled.
She said, “People only saw me as ‘Ryoma Takeuchi’s sister. When I went to a blind date with my friends, the only thing they would take notice of was that I was ‘Takeuchi Ryoma’s sister,’ not my work or my artwork. I knew it was inevitable since I was a completely unknown celebrity, but I was very hurt. People are not interested in me, they are interested in my brother. We would go out drinking, and I would go home crying.”
The turning point was the aforementioned “Godotan.
Godotan” has been my favorite show since I was a kid. I was thinking, ‘I wouldn’t mind quitting the entertainment industry if I could perform on Godotan,’ so I went into the recording thinking I would just give it my all. After being a hit on “Godotan,” I felt like I was me, and I didn’t mind people talking about my brother at blind dates (laughs).
The project in which she appeared was a search for a successor to TV TOKYO’s Yuki Matsumaru, 42, who is well known for her hakkake character. Takeuchi drew laughter with a shocking episode of petit plastic surgery: “I have hyaluronic acid in my chin. In fact, this talk was based on the advice of his older brother, Takeuchi Ryoma.
I wasn’t going to talk about it because I thought it might bother my brother, but he advised me before the recording saying, ‘You should definitely talk about it. I am very grateful.
My brother is really happy that I am active in a variety of fields. Ryoma Takeuchi” often plays quite beautiful roles, so people around me often worry that my image will be ruined if I talk nakedly in a variety show (laughs). (Laughs.) But I think that by speaking without hiding anything, I am conversely gaining more favor with the other side. In fact, they say, “Thank you. You do what I can’t do. I can’t act either, so I leave that to my brother! (Laughs)”
There is only one NG.
“I want to try various things,” Takeuchi says! When asked what he does not want to do, he gave a surprising answer.
I want to eat insects, wrestle with slimy things, and do dirty work. The one thing I don’t want to do is to act in a TV drama with my brother. I’m kind of embarrassed about it, so I don’t watch dramas in which I appear or anything at all. Other than that, I’ll do anything, so please give me a job (laughs).
Takeuchi’s forward-thinking attitude has been well received outside of the variety industry, and recently he has been receiving offers to work on educational and other programs. When we asked Takeuchi, who is on the verge of her big break, about her personal life, she candidly answered, “I haven’t had a boyfriend for four years (laughs).”
I haven’t had a boyfriend for four years (laughs). I am the type of person who is quick-witted and funny, and I really wanted to marry Gekidan Hitori. When I was in elementary school, I cried a lot in front of the TV when I found out he married Akane Osawa (37). My current favorite is Shintaro Moriyama (37) from “Mimikazuchi.” I like his masculine sense of humor. I have a sticker of Mr. Moriyama’s on my cell phone. I would love to work with him someday.
Takeuchi, who has a bright future ahead of him, has a long list of shows he would like to appear in.
I just want to appear in as many variety shows as possible,” he says. I want to be on “Itte Q” (NTV) and get covered in mud overseas, and I want to talk about love on “Gutan Nouveau” (Fuji TV). Above all, I want to continue appearing on “Godtan.” If I wanted, I would like to be an assistant like Nao Asahi (29) and Kayo Noro (39).
Finally, she talked about her goals for the future.
I want to meet the man of my dreams someday and be scooped by Friday (laughs). (Laughs) I’ll do my best to become that famous!
I’ll do anything! Please give me a job (laughs).
