When I read the script, I thought, “Oh my God! I was like, “Oh my God! (omission) I secretly hope that the last cut will make you think, “Oh my God!

The actress who made the comical comment was Honami Suzuki (56).

Suzuki will be playing the lead role in “A Strange Tale ’23 Summer Special Edition” (Fuji Television), which will be broadcast on June 17 for the first time in 27 years. She will play an ordinary housewife living in an apartment complex. She cannot forget the gorgeous experience she had at a lavish ball when she was a child, and when she visits a “princess club,” she is tossed into a tailspin.

Ms. Suzuki’s career in the entertainment industry spans nearly 40 years. She made her debut in 1984 when she applied for the Horipro Talent Scout Caravan and won the judges’ special prize out of about 120,000 applicants. She was active as an actress right from the start, starring in the drama “Onna Fuurin Kazan” (Daiei Television), but it was “Tokyo Love Story” (Fuji Television) in 1991 that made Ms. Suzuki a household name throughout Japan.

Ms. Suzuki played the heroine Rika Akana, the lover of Kanji Nagao, played by Yuji Oda. Sensational lines such as “Kanchi, let’s have sex” were a big hit at the time. In November 1998, she announced her marriage to Takaaki Ishibashi of “Tunnels” fame and had a child together, after which she apparently cut back on her work, but her recent appearances in “Detective Stay Holmes” (on Nippon Television) and “Tutor Trako” (on the same TV network) have increased her exposure.

FRIDAY” has paid attention to Suzuki since the 1990s, when she was popular as a “trendy actress. Her hand-holding with a big-name actor back home, her Hawaiian vacation with her husband Ishibashi, and the happenings at her press conferences ……. We would like to introduce Suzuki’s charms, which are becoming more attractive year by year, with some of her treasured photos.

Returning to Japan holding hands with her boyfriend in an imposing manner

It was a magnificent return to Japan.

In April 1994, Suzuki appeared at Narita Airport. The actor Yosuke Eguchi was holding her hand as they flew back to Japan on an Air France flight after enjoying a holiday in the South Pacific paradise of Tahiti.

They showed no signs of fatigue after the long 10-hour flight. The two sunburned men were all smiles. Eguchi-san held Suzuki-san’s hand tightly and led the way, unperturbed by the unexpected flashes of the press,” said a traveler who was there at the time.

Suzuki chose Ishibashi as her companion (they announced their divorce in July 2009). This magazine (February 12, 1999 issue) reported their newlywed vacation. Suzuki and Ishibashi were found by the poolside of a luxury hotel in Maui, Hawaii. They were lying on deck chairs under parasols, elegantly reading thick books.

They were concentrating on their reading, or perhaps they were truly relaxing, but they hardly spoke to each other. At the time, Ms. Suzuki was in her fifth month of pregnancy. They must have been concerned about her health. They didn’t seem to go out much.

After going through a breakup, divorce, and other twists and turns, the actress Suzuki has added maturity to her career. She is likely to receive more offers to appear in dramas, movies, and on stage in the future.

This photo was taken when she was still an unknown 17-year-old. She was confident she would become an actress even then.
