The strong investigators, carrying shields and dressed in thick bulletproof vests. Equipped to catch even rifle bullets, they can be seen to be constantly on the lookout for their surroundings. Eventually, a man wearing a gray sweatshirt appeared, and the investigators carried him into a vehicle.

This is what happened at the Machida Police Station in the early morning of the 28th. The suspect, Makoto Sasaki, whose occupation is unknown, was arrested on suspicion of violating the Firearms Control Law late at night on August 26.

The incident took place shortly after 7:30 p.m. on the 26th, when a man entered a chain of cafes in a facility adjacent to JR Machida Station and shot a man inside multiple times. The man shot was Eito Suzuki, an executive of a secondary group affiliated with the Yamaguchigumi, a designated crime syndicate.

The victim was hit by at least three bullets in the abdomen and other parts of the body and died shortly after. Two men were seen fleeing the scene in a passenger car.

A few hours after the incident, late at night on the 26th, the suspect Sasaki turned himself in to the Isehara Police Station of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police. The scene shown at the beginning of this report is when Sasaki was sent to the Machida Police Station for prosecution on the 28th. It is not every day that such a high alert is put in place.

First of all, this was probably done to prevent “retaliation” from Yamaguchigumi officials. Or, there was no possibility that they would try to “recapture” the suspect Sasaki. In any case, it is believed that such precautions were taken to prepare for any unforeseen eventuality.

It is reported that Sasaki and the victim were acquaintances and that there was some financial trouble between them. Is this financial trouble really the motive for the crime? The investigation is being conducted carefully to find out if this was indeed the motive for the crime or if it was an organized crime.

If there is some kind of organized involvement, there is a possibility that a “payback” will be made and this could spark a major feud.
