A stage director “sexually assaulted an aspiring idol with sleeping pills,” using a sneaky technique.

The seized man’s smartphone was reportedly found to contain such a message threatening the victim.

On May 8, the Ikebukuro Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested Masahiko Tanimoto, 40, a stage director in Toshima Ward, Tokyo, on suspicion of semi-coercive sexual intercourse. He is alleged to have sexually assaulted Ms. A, a woman in her 20s, in May of last year. Upon investigation, the suspect denied the crime, saying that he had consented to the assault.

Ms. A is said to have been an aspiring idol. The suspect may have taken advantage of his position as a stage director and cleverly invited Ms. A to his apartment to watch a movie and sleep with her. He is alleged to have invited her to his apartment, forced her to drink juice containing sleeping pills while watching a movie, and then sexually assaulted her. The drug used was a tranquilizer prescribed to Tanimoto.

Too fine an imitation of Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi

This is not the first time Tanimoto has been arrested on suspicion of quasi-forcible sexual intercourse. In April of this year, he was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting another woman in her 20s.

When the police analyzed Tanimoto’s phone, they found a video of him sexually assaulting Ms. A and a photo of her identification card. There was also a threatening message saying, ‘I’ll expose your naked pictures. These evidence led to his re-arrest.

Tanimoto, a former professional boxer, was also active in entertainment under the name “Guts.

He had been active for about five years as a comedian from Kyoto. He has appeared on TV in such shows as “The Too Fine to Convey” (Fuji TV). He played the harmonica while playing the guitar and did an imitation of Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi.

Recently, however, I am not sure what he was doing, although he called himself a stage director. He used to have a YouTube channel called ‘Guts Channel,’ but he has not uploaded any videos for the past year or two.

Tanimoto is alleged to have not only indecently assaulted a woman, but also sent her a vile message and attempted to commit the crime again. The police are carefully investigating whether he has any other crimes in addition to the two arrests.
