The apartment was a maisonette type with two floors, and a family of six lived there. Katsuko, her eldest daughter in her 40s, her second daughter in her 30s, her eldest son in his 40s, the suspect Michiko, the eldest son’s wife, and their son in his 20s.

Katsuko was last seen on the morning of April 22. In the morning of April 28, the eldest son found Katsuko’s body in an inspection slot under the kitchen floor on the first floor. The eldest daughter called 110.
