A Woman Stabbed and Robbed of 4,250,000 Yen in a Massage Parlor by a 28-Year-Old Man
A man glares at the camera with a provocative look.
On April 12, Sanezugu Goto, 28, of Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture, was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Investigation Division 1 on suspicion of attempted robbery-homicide and breaking and entering.
“On March 19, shortly after 8:00 a.m., Goto broke into a massage parlor on the fourth floor of a building in Yushima, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. He allegedly took approximately 4,250,000 yen in cash and two smartphones. It appears that he entered the store through an unlocked door,” said a reporter from the society section of a national newspaper.
What did you do with the money?”

At the time of the incident, the massage parlor was out of business hours and the manager, a Japanese woman in her 50s, and a Chinese female staff member in her 40s were sleeping in a private room. The female staff member happened to get up to go to the restroom and encountered the suspect Goto, who entered the store. She was startled and said, “Who are you?”
“Who are you? What did you do with the money there?”
The female staff member noticed that the cash on the desk was missing and questioned the suspect, who then tried to call the police. Hearing the commotion, the manager also arrived at the scene of the crime. In a panic, Goto slashed the two men’s necks and hands with a knife he was carrying.
The manager sustained serious injuries, including a three-month recovery and a one-month injury to a female staff member. After leaving the store, Goto locked the door and fled on a train. He changed his clothes on the way out.
A person who happened to pass by the store called 110 and said, “A woman is standing there covered in blood. The suspect was identified from security camera footage of the area. Upon investigation, Goto denied the crime, saying, “I don’t know her. He had never met the two women.”
It seems that Goto’s personal life was in shambles.
Goto lived in an apartment in Nagareyama City, but he did not have many friends. He did not have many friends. He rarely interacted with his neighbors. There are not many sightings of him around the area.
He probably committed the crime because he was having trouble making a living. About two hours before the incident, there was a man at the damaged store who asked about business hours over the intercom. The police are investigating the connection to the incident.
Although the site is in a downtown area with many restaurants and hotels, there are few pedestrians on the streets in the morning. The police are also investigating the suspect’s planning to target such hours.
