One day at around 3:00 p.m., Hiroshi Oizumi, 49, was seen at the Shisui PA on the Higashi-Kanto Expressway. He seemed to have gone shopping and was carrying a plastic bag in his hand.

He was so busy this morning that he did not have time to have lunch and bought what appeared to be a boxed lunch at a PA he stopped by.

It seems that he was on location that morning for the Sunday theater drama “Last Man – The Totally Blind Investigator” (TBS), which starts in April. Masaharu Fukuyama (54), the lead actor, plays a blind FBI agent, and Oizumi plays his buddy, a skilled detective, and since the two have always been close friends, they have attracted a lot of attention.

Last year, Oizumi played the role of Minamoto no Yoritomo in “Kamakura no 13-nin” (NHK), and at the end of the year, he hosted the “NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen”. This year, he is expected to slow down his work schedule a bit, but he says that his schedule is comparable to last year’s.

He also plays the lead role in the dubbed version of the musical “Sing for Me, Lyle,” which is currently in theaters. From May to July, he will appear in the comedy play “ART” with Fumiyo Kohinata (69) and Issei Ogata (71), and in September a new movie directed by Yoji Yamada (91), in which he and Sayuri Yoshinaga (78) appear together for the first time, will be released. He also has many other jobs in the works, including an event for Hokkaido Nippon Ham’s new baseball stadium “ESCON Field,” and appearances on one-off information programs. Recently, he has been appearing regularly on “SONGS” (NHK), but he sometimes looks tired, and some people around him are concerned that he could collapse at any moment.

For fans, it is nice to be able to see Oizumi all the time. ……
