Yamaguchi Tatsuya “will never drink alcohol again” declares his “abstinence from alcohol” by establishing a company, and the possibility of “TOKIO revival” is seen.
Former “TOKIO” member Tatsuya Yamaguchi opened his official website on March 19, announcing the establishment of “Tatsuya Yamaguchi Co.” He also opened an official Twitter (@yamaguchi_inc).
The top of the homepage reads
I have decided to live with this disease for the rest of my life, and the only way to overcome this disease is to never drink a sip of alcohol in my life.
The only way to overcome this disease is to ‘never drink a sip of alcohol for the rest of my life. In addition, the company’s business description reads as follows
I would like to use my experience to give lectures to those who are around alcoholics and addicts in general, and I would also like to use my experience to hold risk management seminars for companies.
I would also like to use my experience to hold risk management seminars for companies.
I am truly sorry for the incidents and accidents I have caused in 2018 and 2020.
The apology also includes the following words.
Yamaguchi was arrested in ’18 for indecently assaulting two high school girls (prosecution suspended). After that, his contract with Johnny’s was terminated. He virtually disappeared from the entertainment industry.
After that, there were rumors that three members of TOKIO became independent from Johnny’s and launched “TOKIO Inc.” However, in 2008, Mr. Yamaguchi was involved in a drunken motorcycle accident and was again caught red-handed (summarily prosecuted). This put an end to the group’s revival.
A look at the official website already shows a photo of Yamaguchi speaking at what appears to be a lecture. Alcohol itself is not a problem at all, as it is a national luxury, but alcohol is surprisingly highly addictive, and for Yamaguchi, who has been causing trouble, it must mean that he is prepared to give up illegal drugs.
I wonder if he will make a living only from these seminars and lectures in the future.
Of course, he must be considering a return to show business. That is probably why he named the company after himself. It is difficult for a former idol who has been an entertainer from a young age and knows nothing of the rest of the world to work for a general company. However, there is an atmosphere that as long as he can cut down on alcohol, he may be allowed to return to the entertainment industry, so joining forces with TOKIO may have become a reality.
Vocalist Tomoya Nagase, who declared in ’20 that he would be independent and go behind the scenes, has resumed his entertainment activities, reportedly appearing at a live concert in February. It is said that one of the reasons he left Tokio was that he could no longer play in the band. If Mr. Yamaguchi comes back as a bass player, it would be a dream come true to restart the group.
On the homepage of Tatsuya Yamaguchi Inc., Yamaguchi’s elder brother wrote
As an older brother, I would like to believe my brother’s words that he will “never speak of alcohol for the rest of his life.

Fans must be hoping for that, too, and wishing to see TOKIO revived.
