 The man who allegedly stalked and killed his ex-girlfriend has also been involved in a serious injury case.
 Suspect Susumu Terauchi, 31, was rearrested on March 14 for allegedly stabbing a single mother he was dating on a street near JR Hakata Station with a kitchen knife in January of this year. He was re-arrested on suspicion of inflicting injury. The suspect repeatedly punched a man, 40, living in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, in the face on a street in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City, shortly after 5:00 a.m. last August 13, causing a broken bone in the bottom of his eye socket and other injuries that will take about one month to heal.

 The victim was on a trip from Okinawa with a group of friends. An acquaintance who was with him called 110 and said, &#8216;One of my friends is getting beat to a pulp. When police visited the scene, Terauchi had already left. Terauchi denied the crime, saying, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know why I&#8217;m being accused of the crime.
 Terauchi had always had a quarrelsome personality. According to TV Nishinippon, when we visited him in February, he said, &#8220;If I get into a fight with more than one person, I will be a good person to fight with. According to TV Nishinippon, during an interview in February, the suspect said, &#8220;If I get into a fight with more than one person, I can&#8217;t fight with just one kitchen knife. In an interview with the station, he also said that the male victim had made advances toward his former boyfriend, who had been murdered.
 Terauchi&#8217;s &#8220;murdered ex-boyfriend&#8221; is Miki Kawano, then 38, a company employee living in Nakagawa City in the same prefecture.  In a fit of rage, the man stormed into his ex-girlfriend&#8217;s workplace and yelled at her, &#8220;Why did you call the police?

 A tragic incident occurred on January 16, just after 6:00 p.m., when Terauchi stabbed Ms. Kawano to death on a street in front of JR Hakata Station. He suffered dozens of stab wounds to his head and chest, and the cause of death was blood loss. The suspect arrested on suspicion of murder was Ms. Kawano&#8217;s former boyfriend, Terauchi.
 Terauchi apparently ambushed Ms. Kawano near her place of employment. Security cameras showed the two of them walking toward Hakata Station, holding umbrellas. While they were walking and talking, they got into an argument. Terauchi pulled Ms. Kawano down and mounted her, and repeatedly and persistently stabbed her with a knife. After the crime, he returned to his apartment, changed out of his bloodstained clothes, and disappeared.
 He was taken into custody by the Fukuoka Prefectural Police two days later on the 18th. A &#8220;spotting investigator,&#8221; who finds a specific person among the crowd, found Terauchi disguised in glasses and a mask in Nakasu, a downtown area about 1.5 km away from the crime scene. He was in possession of a knife, but he was willing to go along with the investigators and admitted to the crime, saying, &#8216;I&#8217;m sure I stabbed him.
 Terauchi was born in Fukushima Ward, Osaka City. After dropping out of high school, he worked at restaurants in Roppongi, Tokyo and Minami, Osaka, and moved to Fukuoka about a year ago. He began working part-time at a bar in Nakasu in April of last year. One of the bar&#8217;s regular customers was Mr. Kawano.
 She once lived in Okinawa in her late teens and was a student at the &#8220;Actors School,&#8221; which produced Namie Amuro, a former member of &#8220;SPEED,&#8221; and others. He was in the same grade as Eriko Imai, a former member of &#8220;SPEED&#8221; and a member of the House of Councilors, and he admired Ms. Amuro.
 I heard that she came to Fukuoka about 10 years ago. She was married, but after her divorce, she raised her daughter as a single mother. She lives with her parents and her beloved daughter. She met Terauchi at a bar she frequented, and they began dating around last spring.
 However, from the beginning of their relationship, Terauchi&#8217;s restraints were strong.
 Terauchi seems to be a very jealous person. In order to constantly monitor Ms. Kawano&#8217;s activities, he had her use a smartphone application that would reveal her location. He also took away her smartphone, which caused the relationship to deteriorate, and we hear that Mr. Kawano told her he was leaving her around last fall. Ms. Kawano is said to have told those around her that she was afraid of him because he was so restrictive.
 Even after the relationship was terminated, Terauchi persistently followed Ms. Kawano around. In October of last year, Ms. Kawano asked the police for a warning, and in November Terauchi began to appear at her workplace, prompting the police to issue an emergency ban under the Stalking Control Law.
 In response to the police warning, Terauchi told Ms. Kawano that he would not approach her anymore, but she was not convinced. After that, he persistently contacted Ms. Kawano. When the relationship was terminated, the suspect developed a one-sided grudge against Ms. Kawano, and it is believed that this led to the current crime.
 Terauchi also told a friend, &#8220;I like [Ms. Kawano] so much that I can&#8217;t stay away from her. In December, the month after the emergency ban on contact with Ms. Kawano was issued, he received a pictogram from a third party and thought it was a message from Ms. Kawano. He told the police, &#8220;I was not the one who received the emergency ban. He told the police, &#8220;I was obeying (the emergency ban), but the other party contacted me. It is not right that I am the only one who is being wronged.
 Mr. Kawano lost his life due to a grudge against Terauchi. He would have celebrated his 39th birthday on January 18, the day Terauchi was arrested.
