 Ms. A, 24, an esthetician who confessed to having an affair with her father in the previous issue of this magazine, recounted her encounter with Hamada.
 She said, &#8220;After the news report, I have not received any contact from Hamada nor from Mr. S, the intermediary. When Mr. S, a former comedian, introduced me to Hamada, he said, &#8216;I introduced him to several girls, but they were all looking for pictures or money, so I didn&#8217;t meet his expectations.  From December 2006 to April 2007, Ms. A met secretly with Hamada in a suite room at a luxury hotel in Osaka. She said she caught glimpses of his true face many times, which was too lonely because he was at the top of his game.
 Hamada was immediately attracted to Mr. A, who offered him a French cruller on the first day.
 He said, &#8220;The first time we only hugged, and the second time we had physical relations after we took separate baths. On the way home, he gave me money for a cab, and when I refused, he said, &#8216;At least take a cab. I refused, and he told me to &#8216;at least take a taxi and be a woman worthy of me.
 Hamada made various requests to Ms. A in order to make her into the kind of woman he wanted.
 I had my bangs long at the time, but Mr. Hamada told me I should cut them, so I ended up with a curly fringe. He said, &#8216;Most young girls these days are unfaithful, but a girl like you, who is not a sleaze, is my type.
 He seemed to have forgiven Ms. A., and they would sometimes &#8220;talk about work.
 &#8220;When we were watching TV together at the hotel, he pointed at A, a half-Japanese celebrity, and said, &#8216;If you polish up, you can be that good too. He once said of the popular male idol K, &#8216;I don&#8217;t like that guy.
 Hamada liked her so much that he asked her to take a vacation and come to Tokyo with him. However, Mr. A ended his relationship with Hamada in April 2007.
 She said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t sit down when I do my business, so the area around the toilet gets dirty. When I crawled on the floor to wipe it off, I thought to myself, &#8216;Why am I doing this?&#8217; &#8230;&#8230;It became hard for me to have a relationship with Hamada that only distracted him from his loneliness. To me, Hamada-san was &#8216;just an ordinary uncle&#8217; from the beginning to the end.&#8221;
 For Hamada, the &#8220;king,&#8221; secret meetings with Mr. A, who treated him normally, may have been one of the few times he could show his true self.
