“I Wanted To Do Something Sexual” – A Popular Hairdresser Who Grabbed Women’s Breasts Arrested After the Assault by Yoyogi Police

The suspect, Nozomi Asaoka, 29, a beautician, was arrested by the Yoyogi Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on March 2. The suspect Asaoka committed the crime on a night in June of last year. He allegedly committed an indecent act on a woman in her 20s whom he had never met before on a street in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo.

On the day of the incident, Asaoka was drunk and intoxicated after drinking alcohol. When he found Ms. A, who was in her 20s and was his type, he suddenly put his hand on her shoulder and asked her to go out for a drink. According to interviews by Fuji TV and other media, he grabbed Ms. A’s breasts twice when she refused, saying, “Please don’t.”  He then grabbed both of her hands and engaged in other violent behavior.

When Ms. A said, “I’m calling the police,” he ran away shouting, “What the hell!” When Ms. A called 110, the incident was discovered. The suspect, who was arrested based on security camera footage, admitted to the crime, saying that he wanted to pick up girls and have sexual intercourse with them.

The suspect, Asaoka, is from Aichi Prefecture. After graduating from a beauty school in Nagoya, he became a stylist. Until recently, he worked at a well-known beauty salon in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo.

He was a very serious person in terms of his work attitude. He was an excellent hairdresser and had a good reputation. He posted many images of his favorite hairstyles on his Instagram. He must have been enthusiastic about his work. I heard that many of his customers were young women who looked like celebrities, and he was also good at coloring and perms.

“He was also famous for his good talk during cutting. He was a baseball fan, and when he talked about his hometown team, the Chunichi Dragons, he would make his customers laugh with his comical talk. He also enjoyed surfing and often talked about the ocean and waves,” said a stylist in Tokyo.

The suspect Asaoka’s reputation and achievements as a hair stylist were ruined by his drunken and indecent act. If convicted of indecent assault, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
