Keiko Kitagawa (36) had high expectations for her first starring role in a “Tsuki 9” drama, “Themis no Kyoshitsu: Regal Youth White Paper” (Fuji Television Network). However, although the ratings exceeded 10% for the first episode, they dropped to 6.3% for the sixth episode. The struggle continues.
It was a cold morning when I witnessed the location shooting in front of the Tokyo District Court in Kasumigaseki (Chiyoda Ward). Surrounded by a large number of staff members were Kitagawa, wearing glasses, Sarang Minami (20), and “Maeda Maeda” actor Maeda Wasaburo (22).
Kitagawa plays a teacher at a law school, while Minami and Maeda play his students. Kitagawa was exceptionally enthusiastic about her first starring role in a “Tsuki 9″ series, and she was trying her best to bring the team together by giving sweets and handwritten cards to her co-stars,” said a TV station source.
The scene being filmed that day was of Kitagawa leading Minami and Maeda walking from in front of the courthouse toward the station. Kitagawa’s joyful expression was in stark contrast to Minami’s depressed expression as they walked. I hope that Kitagawa will be able to shrug off the pressure of starring in “Tsuki 9” and run through to the final episode with this radiant smile on her face.
