Westland” won the M-1 Grand Prix at the end of last year, but now reports of “tattoos” on the “quieter” Kawamoto have surfaced. …

The February 20 issue of Shukan Gendai reported that Futoshi Kawamoto, the “quieter” of the M-1 Grand Prix champion “Westland” comedians, has tattoos on his hands and feet.

According to the article, the show’s staff offered him a chance to appear on location at a hot spring, but the request was withdrawn because the tattoo was too large to be concealed.

Speaking of “Westland,” Hiroyuki Iguchi’s style of comedy is such that he cuts off the world with his tongue. He even includes things that other performers would be hard pressed to say, such as “YouTubers are starting to get caught by the police” and “The R-1 Guranpuri is a dream come true. He even includes things that other entertainers would be hard pressed to say, such as, “The police are starting to catch us.

Westland splits all fees fifty-fifty. Mr. Iguchi has been working alone more and more, and Mr. Kawamoto has been doing part-time remodeling work in his spare time. However, since the remodeling salary is not split fifty-fifty, there is an inverse phenomenon: Mr. Kawamoto, who has more free time, earns more money per year (laughs).

(Laughs.) Mr. Iguchi says he wants to quit the 50-50 split, but Ms. Kawamoto is always against it, saying, “I have children. Mr. Iguchi, who appears to have a gentle personality, must be thinking about Ms. Kawamoto’s life as well.

When contacted by Weekly Gendai, Mitsuyo Ota, the president of his office, admitted that he has a tattoo, revealing that he got it when he was young as a practice run by a senior tattooist.

When one becomes M-1 champion, he or she almost without exception rises to the ranks of the “hot sellers. Now that reports of Kawamoto’s tattoos have surfaced, there are concerns about the impact on his career….

TV has a very strong aversion to tattoos because sponsors don’t like them. Even in boxing matches, they are supposed to be covered up with makeup, just in case. As for comedians, Kukki-san of “Wild Bombs” has tattoos on his wrists, fingers, and chest. He used to show them and appear on TV, but these days he covers the visible parts with wristbands or taping.

Since Japan has a history of criminals having their faces inked as punishment and gangsters having tattoos, there is a lot of national rejection. Therefore, there is a mysterious standard that accepts tattoos of foreigners but for some reason rejects tattoos of Japanese people.

Kawamoto is not good at speaking, and if he is not allowed to do “naked work,” his range of work may be limited. Even if it was a youthful indiscretion, could he not politely refuse the request of his “senior tattoo artist”?
