 Chikako Takagi (43), the weathercaster for &#8220;Mezamashi TV&#8221; (Fuji Television Network) and the face of the morning with the nickname &#8220;Chikachan,&#8221; had become a beautiful public relations woman after getting married and giving birth.
 She became a freelance announcer after being scouted while a student at Yokohama National University, and was active in many programs before making the change at the age of 39.

 I thought that it would be physically difficult to continue working at the same pace in my 40s as I had in my 20s and 30s, especially while raising a child.
 When I thought about the long term, I couldn&#8217;t picture myself in my 40s or 50s with a successful career. I also wanted to experience working in a company as a member of an organization.
 Although retiring from show business was a big deal, &#8220;I didn&#8217;t feel anguished or conflicted about it,&#8221; she says. She did not look for a new job, but focused on the real estate industry.
 I decided on my own. I told my family after I had made up my mind, so they didn&#8217;t oppose my decision. Bold?　Is that so surprising? (laughs). I had decided that if I wanted to work outside of the media, it would be in the real estate industry. I was interested in European architecture and disaster prevention, and I majored in architecture at university. But even so, I was about to turn 40, had a child, and couldn&#8217;t work overtime. Who would hire someone who has a child and can&#8217;t work overtime? So I wanted to at least have a certification, so I got certified as a real estate agent beforehand.

 The passing rate for a real estate agent is only 15% to 17%, but &#8220;the real estate agent exam is held only once a year,&#8221; he said. I knew that if I failed, it would be a big deal, and for the first time in a long time since I took the university entrance exam, my brain was numb from all the thinking I had to do,&#8221; she said with a Chika-chan smile.
 I had never worked for a company before. It was my first time writing a resume, so it was more like job hunting than a job change.
 However, within three months of registering with &#8220;Riku Navi,&#8221; she received job offers from two companies. When a nationally known announcer came in for an interview at a general company, I was so excited that they said, &#8220;I used to watch you on TV! I was watching TV!&#8221; I&#8217;m sure they would have been very excited. &#8230;&#8230;
 I was not (laughs). (Laughs.) They started with a normal self-introduction and asked me why I was changing jobs and why I wanted to do it. When the interviewer was someone who had changed jobs from a very large advertising agency and a very famous foreign consulting firm, I asked him why he had changed jobs.
 I joined &#8220;Open House Group&#8221; in May 2007, and my life as a company employee was full of firsts. Buying my own commuter pass, punching my own time card, expense reimbursement, and various procedures&#8230;&#8230; were all new experiences for me.
 I realized how blessed I was and how much I was helped by the people around me. I realized how fortunate I was to be in such a good environment and how much help I had received from the people around me. As a freelance announcer, I rarely used a computer, and the only thing I did was look at manuscripts and scripts that were sent to me and update my blog. So I had almost no experience using Word or Excel. When I was asked to send a PDF file of a document, I would just say, &#8220;What&#8217;s a PDF file? I was at the level of &#8220;What is a PDF? I had to ask the people sitting near me all the time. When I think back on it, it was really embarrassing, and I think people would have said, &#8216;This person doesn&#8217;t know anything&#8217; (laughs).
 After overcoming a period in which he did not know what was right or left, he is now a middle-manager in the position of section chief. She handles a wide range of tasks. Haruka Hakariya, who also works in the Public Relations and Advertising Department, says, &#8220;I have to write press releases for the media and deal with media relations.
 In addition to general PR work such as writing press releases for the media, approaching media representatives, handling interviews, operating SNS, and creating in-house newsletters, I also make use of the skills I acquired at my previous job, such as hosting press conferences and in-house events, and being a personality for the company&#8217;s radio program. Tada sometimes emcees award ceremonies for outstanding performers, and is sometimes approached by colleagues who say, &#8216;I used to watch Mezamashi TV! &#8216; at the awards ceremony for those who have achieved outstanding results.
 She says she had a great time when she hosted an event dressed as &#8220;Princess Peach.
 She was also very excited when she dressed up in a &#8220;Princess Peach&#8221; costume and hosted an event.
 The most vivid memory I have from my freelance days is of my first meeting with the cast of &#8220;Mezamashi TV. Norikazu Otsuka (74), Natsuko Kojima (54), and Megumi Yoshida (46) were in front of me. Their faces are so small! Their faces are so tiny! I still remember how excited I was that I was about to enter this world. After that, I went to many places and worked with superstars, but I got used to it, and there was no scene that could compare to that meeting. Now, however, it is different. Even at my age, there are still many firsts for me, and I enjoy them. I can really get into it.
 His oldest daughter will enter elementary school this year, and he has a backup system in place.
 The company understands that childcare and family come first, and in the past few years, 100% of employees have returned to work after taking childcare leave. The company also gives priority to children&#8217;s events. My supervisor also tells me, &#8216;Rather than halfway through, just get it done! rather than halfway through. I decided to join &#8220;Open House Group&#8221; because I thought, &#8220;If the company is growing fast, I can grow fast,&#8221; but also because the interviewer at the first interview was a mother raising a child, and I felt that &#8220;in this company, I can work and raise a child at the same time.
 Chika&#8217;s smile, which soothed viewers as she spoke of her joy at finding &#8220;fulfillment&#8221; in the real estate industry, came back to life.
