This was a statement by Rurei Miura, an international political scientist, who appeared on &#8220;Live TV till Morning&#8221; (TV Asahi) in 2018. The theme of the program was &#8220;The Potential and Challenges of Renewable Energy.&#8221; When the discussion turned to the unit cost of solar power generation and subsidies, Rurei said, &#8220;We are a business.&#8221;

As already reported, &#8220;Tribay Capital,&#8221; a renewable energy fund headed by her husband Kiyoshi Miura, was raided by the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office and on January 26 was under investigation for embezzlement in the course of business.
When Rurei was informed of the raid, she was the first to respond.

She shrugged off the fire from her &#8220;beloved husband&#8221; and insisted on her own innocence. However, as the days go by, her &#8220;strong bond&#8221; with her husband is coming into the spotlight.

In a book titled &#8220;Adultery and Justice,&#8221; which she co-authored with brain scientist Nobuko Nakano, Rurei says, &#8220;We had a very close relationship, and we both took almost half of the shares in each other&#8217;s companies.&#8221;
 We own about 50-50 shares in each other&#8217;s companies, and that&#8217;s more certain than any division of property.
 We have a partnership through the management of the company. From each other&#8217;s point of view, that partnership is much more important than a piece of paper on a marriage certificate.
In the past, she has confessed to owning almost half of the shares of her husband&#8217;s company, in which she claims to have &#8220;no involvement whatsoever. And that is heavier than a marriage certificate.&#8221;
&#8220;In the past, Rurei was interviewed by a TV program for an inside look at her company, which is connected to her husband&#8217;s company on the same floor. I guess the employees are close enough to each other that they see each other every day,&#8221; said a source at the TV station.
That is not all. On April 26, economist Nobuo Ikeda wrote in his website &#8220;Agora&#8221; that &#8220;the members of the panel of experts are all members of the same group.&#8221;
 Since the members of the panel are deemed to be public officials, they could be charged with bribery (by providing funds from their husbands). At the very least, there is a clear conflict of interest as a member of the panel.
The panel members were also held accountable by the Kan cabinet at the time for their appointments.
At first, Ikeda seemed uncomfortable with Rurei&#8217;s co-hosting of the &#8220;Morning Live&#8221; program and his relentless promotion of solar power.&#8221; In 19 years, Mr. Ikeda&#8217;s tweets already included the following
&#8220;Rurei Miura&#8217;s bizarre promotion of renewable energy is not unrelated to the fact that her husband (Kiyoshi Miura) is the managing director of a renewable energy fund called Tribay Capital,&#8221; Ikeda pointed out.
He points out that &#8220;I am not the only one who has a strong interest in renewable energy.&#8221;
