There is a problematic manga that has been the subject of controversy on the Internet, with the official Twitter account almost being banned for its overly extreme content. It is “Bully Yabai Hito” serialized in Weekly Magazine’s official manga app “Magapoke.” The latest volume, volume 18, will be released on February 9.

Nakamura Nan’s “Tormenting the Wicked” (Nakamura Nan)

As the title suggests, the theme of this work is bullying. It is said that the sheer horror of the situation led to many complaints to the editorial office when the serialization began. However, the “badness” of this work is that it is not just a bullying manga.

The story takes place in Class 1B of a certain high school. There, bullying by the main character, Nakajima-kun, is rampant. The target of the bullying is a fragile girl, Shirasaki-san. The bullying includes making her incontinent in the classroom, calling her a bitch, and forcing her to commit suicide, all of which would make anyone want to turn away. However, Nakajima-kun, who torments Shirasaki as if possessed by something, has a secret.

At night, Nakajima visits Shirasaki’s house.

In fact, Nakajima-kun had been threatened by Ms. Shirasaki that she would kill him if he did not bully her, and if he could not carry out the bullying successfully, he was controlled by her by being assaulted to the point of life or death. In other words, the bullying in the school was a facade, and the real bad guy who bullies was Mr. Shirasaki.

To raise the issue of bullying from a completely new angle

There are many works on the subject of bullying, but not many of them focus on the bully’s position. This work exposes the pointlessness of thinking about bullying and the emptiness of bullying by adopting a “bully under dress” structure. They unwittingly come to experience the reality that bullying produces nothing.

In fact, Nakamura said in a past interview with ORICON NEWS, “I draw my works because I want readers to feel that ‘such vain and trivial bullying should be stopped’ and ‘bullying will come back to you one day.’

This is a new kind of “bullying manga” that is not only about the extreme nature of bullying. We hope you will enjoy the strange feeling you get after reading this manga.
