I don’t think I would have become an actor if my mother hadn’t applied for the audition.

(TBS), which started on Sunday, January 8, as a main cast member. In “Get Ready!”, he plays Tsuyoshi Shirase, a young all-powerful hacker who is a member of a team of black market doctors that includes Satoshi Tsumabuki (42), Tatsuya Fujiwara (40), and Nao Matsushita (37).

His imposing performance is as good as those of the splendid actors, and some people commented, “He is so good at acting that you would think he is really 18 years old. His acting is so good that people are wondering if he is really 18 years old,” and his performance is attracting attention on SNS. We interviewed Hinata, who is on the verge of a major breakthrough.

Wataru Hinata (18) plays the genius hacker Tsuyohito Shirase in “Get Ready!

When I was chosen to appear in a Sunday theater production, I felt as if I had finally been accepted as an actor, or as if I had reached a new stage in my acting career. I am nervous because I will be acting amongst my seniors, but Tatsuya Fujiwara, who helped me in my debut film, and Satoshi Tsumabuki, who is my senior at the office and has always been a great help to me, are also there, so I can relax and go about my acting. I can feel the performances of my seniors up close, and I hope to grow even more through this work.

Hinata entered the entertainment industry at the age of 14 through an audition sponsored by the major entertainment agency HORIPRO, and was selected as the Grand Prix winner out of 6468 applicants.

When I was 14, my mother was crazy about Ryoma Takeuchi, 29, who was my senior at the office. She wanted to meet Mr. Takeuchi, so she applied on her own to the audition held by HORIPRO from ’18 to ’19 (laughs). (Laughs) When I heard that I was accepted in the application screening, at first I thought it was a joke. I gradually developed a sense of anticipation, wondering how far I could go, and I thought that if I made it to the third round or so, I would be proud of myself (laughs). Then, just like that, I was selected for the Grand Prix, and I was very surprised to see it on ……. I had already been selected to make my debut film with the extra prize, so from the very beginning I was very determined to make it as an actor.

He made his debut as an actor, which seemed like a dream come true, and the following year he appeared in the drama “My Sister’s Lover” (Fuji Television). Although his acting career seems to have gotten off to a smooth start, he says he had his own conflicts.

I learned the joys of acting in my debut film, “The Sun Stays Still. I enjoyed acting so much that after filming was over, I couldn’t wait to be in a new movie! After the filming, I was overflowing with the desire to be in a new production. But reality was not so easy, and for a year or two after my debut, I kept repeating that I would audition and fail. I was thinking that it would be better to concentrate on my studies, and my heart was on the verge of breaking.

As she spent those days, she says her main goal was to be in a certain film.

I like talking to people,” he said in the interview, smiling throughout.

I talked to my manager about how I wanted to be in “Masked Rider” because it was a film in which I could play the same role for a whole year, and even a young actor could play the main role. Until then, I had always wanted to win a role in any film, but “Masked Rider” was the first film in which I wanted to act on my own volition. Because of that desire, I was very happy to be able to appear in “Masked Rider Revise” (TV Asahi) from ’21 to ’22.

In “Masked Rider Revise,” Hinata played the role of the second rider who supports the main character. He played the difficult role of a dual personality, but he says he struggled with the differences between his own personality and that of the character.

He said, “Normally, I am rough and show-offy, so I am more of a hero type of person (laugh). But in “Kamen Rider Revise,” I play a supporting role to the main character, so I have a shadowy side. It was difficult to fill the gap between my character and my own personality. It broadened my acting range and allowed me to try different things, which I think was an important experience for me as an actor.

We look forward to seeing Hinata in a wide range of roles in the future, and we wonder what his ideal actor would be like.

I want to be an actor whose acting ability puts viewers at ease. I want people to say, “Because Wataru Hinata is in this movie, it will definitely be interesting. My dream is to become a long-lived actor who appears in hundreds of productions. I really love acting now, so I will do my best to continue to do so in the future.

During the interview, he was always upbeat and positive, but when asked about his future goals, he responded in his typical manner.

When asked about his goals for the future, he responded in his typical way: “My dreams for the future used to change from time to time. I’ve been a trading company man, a physical therapist, a motorcycle policeman, and so on. …… For me, being an actor is a dream job because I can become a different profession every time. Up until now, I’ve played the devil, industrial espionage, or …… something a little out of the ordinary (laughs). In the future, I’d like to play a cop, a self-defense officer, or even a schoolteacher…I’d even like to be in a school drama while I’m still a teenager!”

Wataru Hinata’s big breakthrough has only just begun.
