The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office raided the house for two to three hours from around 8:00 p.m. on January 19. They were the office of an investment company, ‘Tribay Capital’ (‘Tribay’), located in Nagatacho, and their tawaman in Roppongi. The couple was not present during the raid, which was apparently handled by two employees of Tribay and others,” said a reporter from the society section of a national newspaper.

On January 19, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office raided Tribay, which is headed by Kiyoshi, the husband of Rurei Miura, an international political scientist. The raid was triggered by criminal charges against the company for defrauding the public of approximately 1 billion yen under the guise of investing in a solar power generation business.

The Special Investigation Department apparently seized documents related to the development of the solar power generation business, IDs required at the time of application, accounting documents, pamphlets, computers, and other items.

Rurei made the comment on the official website of the think tank “Wildcat Research Institute,” of which he is the president. After describing the raid as “factual,” she wrote: “As for me, I am not at all concerned about my husband’s company management.

I was not involved in the management of my husband’s company, and I have no knowledge of any of this.

Is this really true?

First of all, the headquarters of “Tribay” and “Wildcat Research Institute” are located in the same place, and it is widely reported that “the two companies may be one and the same. In June of last year, this magazine, “Focus on the Future,” reported that the two companies had been working together as a single entity. In June last year, FRIDAY caught wind that the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office had launched an investigation into Tribay, and we have been watching the office where the two companies are located.

The offices of both companies are located on the ground floor of a building in Nagatacho. One corner of the office has a glass wall and can be seen from the outside. Inside, Mr. Rurei is eagerly perusing newspapers and weekly magazines. Some passersby walking by the office were surprised to recognize the woman as Mr. Rurei. This container area is Mr. Rurei’s space, and the surrounding area is Mr. Kiyoshi’s. Although there is a separation between the two, they are not separated.

Although there is a separation between the two spaces, Mr. Kiyoshi also visited Mr. Rurei’s space to chat with him with a cup of coffee in hand, and after lunch, he was seen laboriously going out to buy lunch for Mr. Rurei. There is no doubt that the two companies, Tribay and Wildcat Research Institute, are extremely close.

The company’s “president’s office” is supposed to handle media relations for “Tribay,” but it seems that the company did not originally have a department of this kind. It is believed that the person actually handling the media correspondence is a female employee who provides administrative support to Mr. Rurei.

It is also known that Rurei’s own sister’s name was listed as a “director” in the register of the energy-related incorporated association that Seiji once operated. Is it possible that Mr. Rurei “had no knowledge” of this despite the fact that they are so closely intertwined?

In any case, there is no doubt that the Special Investigation Department is taking this case seriously.

The current Special Investigation Department is the “most powerful” in the world. Since Hiroshi Ichikawa assumed the post of Special Investigator, the number of arrests during his tenure is said to be the highest in the history of the department. The cap of the “direct report team” (a team in the Special Investigation Department that is mainly in charge of prosecution and accusation cases) in charge of this case is scheduled to be transferred in April this year, and it is said that the case will be closed by then.

What will Mr. Rurei say if the case spreads any further?
