<h3><strong>Looks like &#8220;seafood pizza&#8221; and smells like &#8220;okonomiyaki&#8221;&#8230;</strong></h3>
<p> Okonomiyaki-style pizza&#8221; is now on the market! But when I thought about it, I realized that while there is such a thing as &#8220;pizza-style okonomiyaki,&#8221; &#8220;okonomiyaki-style pizza&#8221; is not something you hear about very often.</p>

<p> Pizza is a &#8220;pizza-style okonomiyaki&#8221; that is often seen in Osaka. Pizza was launched in the Kansai region on January 5 to commemorate its 35th anniversary. Moreover, it is a collaboration with that &#8220;Chibo. Founded in 1973 in Sennichimae, Chibo is a popular okonomiyaki restaurant with a long lineup at its flagship store in Osaka, and now has 72 stores in Japan and abroad.</p>

<p> As a fake Kansai person, I had to try this. So I decided to order it right away.</p>
<p> I really wanted to order a half-and-half Margherita, but considering the visual impact, I decided to go with okonomiyaki only. The waiter at Pizza must have thought, &#8220;Manly man!</p>
<p> It&#8217;s been a while since I used a pizza delivery service, but it&#8217;s so convenient now. Just by clicking online, you can check the arrival time and pay for the delivery. What&#8217;s more, you can choose from three types of dough for free: &#8220;Super Crispy (thin dough),&#8221; &#8220;Italian (cheese up to the ears),&#8221; and &#8220;Hand Toss (fluffy up to the ears). I wondered what was the right choice for okonomiyaki, but in the end I chose &#8220;Italian&#8221; which seemed to be the most cost-effective.</p>

<p> However, I think to myself that I have lost my sense of shame in ordering pizza when I live alone. It brings back memories of when I was a young maiden and I pretended to be a pariah by calling out to my friends the moment the pizza arrived because I didn&#8217;t want the delivery man to scorn me and say, &#8220;Is this guy going to eat a pizza all by himself?</p>

<h3><strong> Bonito flakes, Chibo&#8217;s special okonomiyaki sauce and white sauce&#8230;let&#8217;s try it!</strong><strong> </strong></h3>

<p> Oh, it looks like a regular seafood pizza. The ingredients are shrimp, scallops, squid, and cabbage. The sauce is Chibusa&#8217;s special okonomiyaki sauce, with the optional white sauce to be added later. Aonori (green laver) is the only thing that gives it an okonomiyaki feel. The aroma is exactly that of okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki sauce is a marvel.</p>
<p> But then again, okonomiyaki is made of flour, and pizza is also made of flour, right? So this is just okonomiyaki after all! I was cheated! I suddenly felt unconvinced, but then I tried it. <strong> </strong></p>
<h3><strong> But when I tried it, I found that the waves of pizza and okonomiyaki alternated&#8230;</strong></h3>
<p> Or rather, it is a food that can only be described as &#8220;okonomiyaki-style pizza. The dough, cheese, and ingredients are all pizza, but the cabbage, sweet and spicy sauce, and aonori (green laver) make a strong statement that &#8220;I am an okonomiyaki! I&#8217;m an okonomiyaki! It is completely different from pizza-style okonomiyaki.</p>

<p> Of course, it is not just any okonomiyaki. Well, even though it is the same flour, pizza dough is fermented like bread, so it has a unique sour taste and aroma. Yeast is amazing.</p>

<p> When I put bonito flakes on top of the okonomiyaki, a seafood broth-like flavor was added, and I felt more and more like I was drowning in a sea of okonomiyaki. The visual is also getting closer to okonomiyaki.</p>
<p> Mayonnaise is a must. This is Chibo&#8217;s original sauce, which is said to be the best match for the sour and sweet okonomiyaki sauce.</p>
<p> Cheese, mayo, shrimp, pizza dough, cabbage, sauce&#8230;. With each bite, waves of pizza and okonomiyaki seem to alternately wash over you, making it hard to stop eating.</p>
<h3><strong> The sales pitch is &#8220;Okonomiyaki you can eat with one hand!&#8221;</strong><strong> </strong></h3>

<p> I wonder why this pizza was released only in the Kansai region, though. Wasn&#8217;t it for fear of being judged harshly by the okonomiyaki-crazy Osakans? As I thought about it, I came to a conclusion: the sales pitch for this pizza says, &#8220;An okonomiyaki you can eat with one hand! I was surprised to find that the sales pitch for this pizza reads, &#8220;An okonomiyaki you can eat with one hand!</p>

<p> That&#8217;s right, Osaka people love okonomiyaki more than you might think. They will make any excuse to eat okonomiyaki, and they will even grill okonomiyaki in the corner of a supermarket or in front of the eaves of a store whenever they have the chance. But okonomiyaki is not something you can eat with your hands. So, I am sure that there must be a lot of impatient Osaka people who say, &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to use chopsticks, and I want to bite into it as soon as possible! So, the pizza version must have been made to meet the needs of impatient Osakans who want to eat it as soon as possible.</p>
<p> Pizza is a company that caters to the Osaka people, isn&#8217;t it? However, if I were asked if I would order this pizza again, I would say, &#8220;Yes, it&#8217;s delicious, but I think I&#8217;ll just have a half-and-half Margherita. I wonder if I am not yet fully imbued with Kansai people&#8217;s spirit.</p>
