The “otherworldly” genre has now become a major genre. The popularity of this genre has grown to the point that an anime based on a different world is broadcast every season.

One anime that will begin in January 2023 is “I will save 80,000 gold coins in another world to prepare for my old age,” or “Roukin” as it is commonly known.

Based on a novel of the same title written by FUNA, this extremely popular work has garnered a total of over 120 million PV on the web novel site “Shosetsu-kaerou” (Let’s Become a Novelist).

The light novel has already been published in seven volumes, and a comic adaptation by Keisuke Motoe is currently being serialized in the Nico Nico manga “Wednesday Sirius” (comics already published in 10 volumes, with more to follow). Mitsuha Yamano, the main character, is 18 years old and has been left alone since her parents and older brother died in an accident. She has inherited an estate that will provide her with a good living for the foreseeable future, but she is worried about what to do with her life plan.

One day, Mitsuha gets tangled up with some men and slips off a cliff, waking up in a different world! In fact, while falling off the cliff, Mitsuha ripped off a piece of a mysterious life form, which gave him the ability to “transfer between worlds” to and from the original world at will.
