What a rock band can do is “redistribute.

We used to think that our songs would only reach people in the corner of a school classroom like we did when we were teenagers,” says Kijima.

says Akira Mutumuro (28), vocalist and guitarist of the Kansai-based four-piece band “Humbledders. A major characteristic of their songs is that they are on the side of the weak.

“Someone who shined in his school days is now smoldering in the corner of his company ……. People who I used to think would never accept us have found out that they are listening to our songs when they enter society.”

What is the band’s guiding principle? Acknowledging this, what a rock band can do is “redistribute” words and sounds that can accompany the lives of those who are not as strong. We will continue to cherish what we can sing while feeling the fear that we could unconsciously be on the “strong side” as well.
