Thank you for all you have done for us this year. I look forward to working with all of you again next year.”

A friendly portrait of a family of four looking at each other with smiles on their faces. Aki (53), the model and ex-wife of Kazuhiro Kiyohara (55), wrote her thanks along with a family shot she posted on Instagram Stories on New Year’s Eve under the title “People of the #Kiyohara family. The photo of the happy-looking family earned “likes” from many fans who know the story of how things have been going.

The Kiyohara family is enjoying a favorable wind. Aki, who has a large following as an influencer, published her column “Home, Food, and Vegetables” last November when her oldest son turned 20. The book focuses on the eight years she chronicled on Instagram after her divorce, and touches on her two sons, as well as Kiyohara. Their eldest son, Shogo, was the No. 4 hitter on the Keio University baseball team. His second son, a sophomore at Keio University High School, is favored to participate in the spring selections and has attracted media attention, including a feature article in a sports newspaper. Kiyohara’s reputation has been on the rise since Aki became president of his management company.

In July of the year before last, for the first time in 12 years, Kiyohara commentated on a game between the Giants and Hanshin after his probation was lifted. In February of last year, he visited the campsite where he had been banned since the drug case. He has been instructing the first-team players of Chunichi and has appeared frequently on TV and radio as a commentator. In addition, his YouTube channel, which he started in December 2008, has more than 500,000 registered users.

On the other hand, it is also true that he has yet to be called upon to do anything other than baseball commentary on terrestrial television.

He has often posted on his YouTube channel that he is making daily efforts to get rid of his drug addiction, but it is a fact that the production side of variety shows is reluctant to do so because of his strong face, tattoos, and black image, which he cannot get rid of. However, it is said that having people around you who understand and support you and going out in public more and more is an effective way to fight addiction.

On Instagram on New Year’s Eve, Aki wrote the following as the most important thing that happened this year.

“The fact that a family that was once broken is now a family again, albeit in a different form and distorted.”

The two began to have a falling out around the time of Kiyohara’s reported affair in 2009, and in 2002 Aki separated with their child following drug allegations, but they divorced in 2004. They later divorced, and when Kiyohara was arrested in 2004 for violating the Stimulants Control Law, he notified his children that he had no access to them and severed ties with them. However, Aki decided to be supportive of Kiyohara and has remained so to this day. Speaking of which, the obi of her column published last year included these words.

Let go. Waiting. To believe.”

What will the second chapter of Kiyohara and Aki’s life be like?

In July 2001, during their second year of marriage, Kiyohara and Aki were shopping in Omotesando (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). The couple enjoys shopping in Omotesando (Shibuya Ward).
