Actor Gin Maeda’s remarriage at the age of 78 has been the talk of the town.

He appeared in all of Kiyoshi Atsumi’s “Otoko wa Tsuraiyo” film series as “Hiroshi,” the husband of Chieko Baisho. It was a memorable casting for anyone who saw the films.

In August ’21, he lost his wife of two years, who had lived with him for 52 years, to pancreatic cancer. In the midst of his lonely life, he met Sachiko Hakozaki by electric shock last January. Well, I was really surprised….

According to Mr. Maeda

I met her at a snack bar in Tokyo, and her lonely singing voice touched my heart.

She was a woman with three children, and a woman with three children.

She raised her three children by herself and was at the beach when the Great East Japan Earthquake struck. I wanted to see her again.

Mr. Maeda honestly felt that he wanted to see her again. They started dating in March. They were married in June, a very “speedy marriage.

Sachiko is a 74-year-old singer. She is the ex-wife of former “Miss Iwaki” Fuichiro Hakozaki, the singer of the hit “Atami no Yoru” (Night in Atami) in 1969.

They married in 1980 after dating for six years, but their happy marriage lasted only eight years. Mr. Hakozaki fell ill with liver cancer.

It was shortly after that that he met Sachiko. I, who was originally a close friend of Mr. Hakozaki’s, was very pleased to meet Sachiko, who had done a great deal of PR for “Night in Atami” in Atami City.

I asked him how he felt about Mr. Hakozaki.

It brought back memories of leaving Atami with the staff with a happy feeling that we had created a great memory for Sachiko and her three children, all of whom were elementary school students at the time, of their father, Mr. Fuichiro Hakozaki.

I am grateful to the chairman of the Atami City Tourism Association at the time and everyone involved. The remarriage of Maeda-san and Sachiko-san reminded me of such an event. I realize that more than 40 years have passed since then. It is a fresh memory for me, having just become a reporter.

They are planning to release a new duet, “Nagi no Kaze” in February. But the duet was not the story that Maeda-san used to woo Sachiko.
