Give me the money!

Five young men suddenly attacked Mr. A, a man in his 20s, who was walking on the street. Mr. A rebelled. The five youths then strangled him, punched and kicked him, and injured him for about three weeks, and took his wallet.

The appalling incident by the youths took place at around 7:30 in the morning on December 21.

The location was Dogenzaka in Shibuya, Tokyo, where many young people gather. The male victim, Mr. A, was on his way home after drinking at a club. On a nearby street, five college students and others were drinking. They must have found Mr. A looking drunk and thought of committing the crime.

First, one of them threatened Ms. A and an argument ensued. Mr. A’s face was swollen and blackened, and the five men took his wallet from his pants pocket and fled.

The “terrible result” that they brought upon themselves.

The first suspect, Daigo Naganuma, 21, a student at a private university in Tokyo, was caught first. The other four suspects, a 19-year-old boy and a university student, turned themselves in to the Shibuya Police Department on the evening of September 21.

The five were said to have been playmates who met in Shibuya. The 19-year-old boy and one of the college students admitted to the crime, while the other two partially denied it, saying they did not touch him directly.

A group of men assaulted a man they had never met before and robbed him of his money and goods. This must have been a very vicious crime. Former Kanagawa Prefectural Police detective and crime journalist Taihei Ogawa said, “These young people are funny.

The young men may have done it just for the fun of it. It may have been a game. However, the horrific nature of the crime suggests that they are a criminal group. Being drunk with alcohol is no excuse.

The Metropolitan Police Department has been enhancing a system called the “SSBC (Search Support and Analysis Center). It analyzes security camera footage in a relay format. This system helped catch the culprits in the case of the overturned small truck at Halloween in Shibuya, for example.

The five people arrested this time should have known that such a security system has been strengthened. They should have known that the security system had been enhanced, and that even if they were to get away with their crimes out of a sense of fun, it would be almost impossible for them to get away with it, with terrible consequences for themselves. They will realize the gravity of the situation at the detention center and turn pale.

Water never returns to the tray. Once an incident has occurred, there is no going back.
