<p> On September 30, rakugo storyteller Sanyutei Enraku VI passed away. He was 72 years old.</p>

<p> Enraku had been in and out of the hospital repeatedly after suffering a stroke in January of this year.</p>
<p><strong> In late August, Enraku was admitted to a Tokyo hospital with &#8220;mild pneumonia,&#8221; and it was announced that he would be discharged in two to three weeks. However, his condition was actually very serious and he had been in the hospital for a long time. A few days ago, he was also suffering from delirium-like symptoms, perhaps due to the effects of the medication. People around him were praying for his recovery, but he passed away on the morning of the 30th.</strong></p>
<p> In 1970, while still a university student, he became an apprentice to Sanyutei Enraku V. He became a regular on &#8220;Laughing Point&#8221; (Nippon Television) in 1977, when he was the second &#8220;Rakutaro&#8221;. He succeeded to the name &#8220;Sanyutei Enraku VI&#8221; in 2010.</p>

<p> The wake and funeral will be held in a family-style ceremony. We would like to pray for the repose of the soul of Enraku, who brought so much laughter to the tea room.</p>
