Yamazaki and Obata were a couple who drew attention in June 2005 when this magazine reported on their affair. The fledgling comedian had won the heart of Fuji’s top announcer, and the affair was revealed less than a month after they had started dating, prompting a furious bashing of Obata’s brother.
